We start from a different question: what will this system still need two years from now, and who will be there to give it?
Sometimes that's your own technology team, because they know your estate and they'll own the technology long after we've gone. Sometimes it's a vendor you already work with and trust. Sometimes it's our own build team, because the work is specialised, the timeline is tight, or your internal roadmap is already full.

Every build is scoped around the same set of questions. The answers differ by client, and we'd rather agree them openly at the start than discover a mismatch at go-live.
Who builds and who maintains. Your team, your preferred vendor, ours, or a combination, decided on fit rather than on price alone.
Intellectual property and ownership. What you own outright, what sits with a third party, and what that means if you later change partners.
Support after go-live. Whether maintenance sits with us, transitions to your team, or runs as a shared arrangement for an agreed period.

Data handling and residency. Where data sits, who touches it, and what your regulator expects. Particularly relevant in financial services and healthcare.

What doesn't vary
Three things are the same on every engagement, whoever does the building.
The decisioning logic is defined with your people, so the thinking is documented rather than locked in someone's head. Documentation, admin access and training are part of delivery, not a separate invoice. And we don't recommend a build partner we have a financial interest in without telling you.
